In Barcelona we are planning to undertake another comparative study case working jointly with the “Museum de l’Hospitalet de Llobregat” (associate partner).
It will focus on two fundamental aspects of the CURBATHERI-Deep Cities scientific objectives.
Physical, urban and social transformations
The first will be to evaluate the physical, urban and social transformations that have taken place in some of the heritage complexes and elements in the old part of the town.
To do this we will seek to analyse the townspeople’s perception of their heritage, as well as the possible uses of virtualising heritage in the local museum context. A member of our team will carry out a survey that, due to the Covid-19 situation, will be online.
Evolution of the Cultural District
The second study area will focus on analysing the evolution of the Cultural District ‒ a project designed to create a zone of attraction for artists ‒ from the perspective of the different stakeholders.
This analysis will allow us to understand how urban transformations and heritage management overlap from the viewpoint of the local administration.
